Pad printing silicon for toys Pad printing silicon for toys is a indirect printing technology by using soft silicone pad, which has been a main method to print pattern or decorate on the surface of toys. To do the pad printing, we should first sculpture the pattern on the steel plate, then transfer the pattern to the surface of the toys by a soft silicon pad that absorbed printing ink sufficiently. Of course, we need a pad printing machine to do the process above. The pad printing technology is applicable to print for difform toys, convenient to change the printing position and much more delicate than silk-screen and thermoprint. What does the QC items include in the process of pad printing? 1. Omit some part of the patterns. 2. Repeat pad printing excessively, which leads to foldover. 3. Print on the wrong position of the toys. 4. The printing oil is too thin, which leads to unclear patterns. 5. The printing oil hasn’t been mixed evenly, which cause different definition. 6. The patterns or words seems chapped and not like a whole. The printing ink contains linking material, pigment, solvent and auxiliaries. The linking material contains one or several kinds of resin that appear to be powdery at most times, so it should dissolve in appropriate solvent or mixed solvent. The choice and synthesis of resin decide the characteristics of the printing ink, for example, the gloss and chemical resistance. Solvent is the key factor of drying rate of printing ink, and has an effect of printing rate and adhesive force. Diluent contains in the solvent. Combing with the printing ink, the diluent could help obtain favorable viscosity, which is good for the transfer of printing ink. The pigment reflects the color of printing ink and decides its grounding. And it could be divided into the organic and the inorganic and it shouldn’t contain heavy metal. A little Auxiliaries is enough and its function is to adjust the characteristics of printing ink. And the auxiliaries includes flatting agent and intensifier. No matter which type of printing ink it is, it should mixed thoroughly. In order to ensure the appropriate viscosity, we may adjust the component ratio of the printing ink.
