Silicone rubber for rapid prototyping is a kind of two components addition cure type silicone with the characteristics of good elasticity, high and low temperature resistance, good resistance to ultraviolet radiation, environmental protection, waterproofing, good air permeability, good insulation, small line indentation, etc. Not only can it cure at room temperature, but also its curing time can be accelerated by higher temperature. Today, I will answer some questions for you about rapid prototyping silicone. A、Uncured silicone rubber The emergence of this phenomenon may be that the catalyst of addition cure type silicone rubber is poisoning or expired; then inadequate cure temperature or cure time can also cause incomplete curing. Specifically, it can be due to the following reasons. First of all, the ratio of silicone and curing agent is incorrect because of the error of measuring instruments or man-made factors. Secondly, the shelf life of products is expired causing a failure of poor performance. Thirdly, the catalyst of silicone rubber for rapid prototyping is likely to fail due to improper storage. In addition, the operating environment containing some factors makes the catalyst poisoning, such as phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen and other organic compounds. Solutions: 1. Measuring instruments must be regularly checked to ensure accurate proportioning. 2. We can use the double system of two pairs of allocation for glue. 3. The workplace is away from other potentially harmful organic compounds, and it is strictly prohibited to smoking immediately after use rubber. 4. Please pay attention to the storage conditions required by the manufacturer and the shelf life of note, the products should be used up in the shortest possible period of validity. B、Poor adhesion to the substrate This consequence happens only because you do not have to deal with the surface of the material to be bonded or the substrate material needs to be changed. Own shortcomings of silicone rubber for rapid prototyping may also cause this problem. Specifically, it may be several reasons. First of all, you haven't chosen the appropriate product model with strong adhesion. Secondly, the proportion of two compounds is error because of the measuring instruments failure or human error by accident. Thirdly, product over its shelf life or improper storage leads to poor performance. Next, you failed to choose the proper viscosity bottom coated when use it. Besides, the temperature is too high and curing rate is too fast, then the poor adhesion produced by the different expansion coefficient due to the temperature change. Finally, one-component removed from a freezer is used immediately, without a period of time to go back to the temperature. Solutions: 1. Choose strong adhesion of the rapid prototyping silicone. 2. In order to ensure the adhesion, please try to use the co- thickening primer in use. 3. Please use a phased manner as far as possible to avoid too fast curing rate and the internal stress generated at high temperature. 4. Single component product is not used immediately after removal from the freezer; place it for 1 to 2 hours in order to achieve the balance of the silicone rubber and the environment. 5. Please correct storage in accordance with the requirements, to ensure the effectiveness of the adhesive. 6. Measuring instruments must be calibrated regularly. 7. We should adopt double system when the deployment of the silicone and curing agent. Shenzhen Hong Ye Jie Technology Co., Ltd. is the silicon rubber for rapid prototyping manufacturer.
